The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, St. James Conference, has been blessed with a matching gift challenge from an anonymous donor who will match, dollar for dollar, all donations made to SVdP during the Christmas season up to $15,000. 
 
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, St. James Conference during this past year (Oct. 1, 2023 - Sept. 30th, 2024) helped 1,277 individuals (676 adults and 601 children) with $86,600 in assistance: 42% for rent, 25% for utilities, 24% for food, and 9% miscellaneous assistance (beds, mattresses, storage fees, car insurance, phone bills, etc.), and more recently you helped feed over 48 families (203 men, women and children) with turkey dinners. 
 
But what you do is more than numbers, your love and concern for our neighbors has spared individuals, families and children from being evicted, having their utilities shut-off, going hungry or worrying about financial difficulties.
 
Help us reach the matching gift challenge and kick-start a new year by donating now to SVdP, you can place a donation in one of the SVdP collection boxes or send a check to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, 158 Federal Street, Salem, MA 01970 during the Christmas season.
