I grew up in a rural area of northern Germany that, to this day, is predominantly catholic. After Catholic high school and mandatory military service, I studied History and Latin to become a teacher. While at Tuebingen University in Germany, I met my future wife who was an American student studying German during her junior year abroad. I applied for a student exchange program and completed the requirements for a Masters degree in History at Washington University in St. Louis, MO.

In my subsequent professional life, I worked as a teacher (at all grade levels over the years, from Kindergarten through 12th grade) and as a lawyer (Temple Law class of 1991). In 1993 my wife and I moved, with our two year old son, close to her parents in Norwood, Massachusetts.  As a result of my divorce, I relocated to the North Shore and found a home here in Salem. On my first visit to Ste. Anne in 2017, I felt drawn to the church and the community. I feel honored to have been chosen for the position of Director of Faith Formation, and am awed by the great responsibility. Still, I hope you agree, as disciples of Christ, that we all are called to help root our children in the faith that has sustained us, especially in the more difficult moments of our lives. I ask for your commitment to this joint task, by prayer, and by example, as lay teachers, and as living witnesses of our faith.
