John Tanyi, our seminarian, was ordained Deacon on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston by His Eminence Cardinal Seán Patrick O’Malley, O.F.M. Cap., Archbishop of Boston. A Thanksgiving Mass was celebrated on the same day at Ste. Anne’s. During his first sermon, Rev. Deacon John Tanyi shared a glimpse of his journey to become a servant of the Lord. Parishioners, many who went to Boston, participated in the Thanksgiving Mass, and reception, tirelessly.
We would like to seize this opportunity to sincerely THANK everyone who contributed to the success of the events. We received a lot of support from our parishioners, members of the Cameroon Catholic community, members of the Filipino community, the Anglo community, CWA-Queen of Peace, CWA-Our Lady of Perpetual Help, The Charismatic group, Manyu groups, and members of the Lebialem community, family, friends, and well-wishers.
The Parish Family of Ste. Anne, along with the Cameroon Community and the Filipino Community, sincerely thanks Deacon John Tanyi for his pastoral services to our parish and we send our love and prayers with him as he moves on to St. John the Baptist Parish and St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in Peabody for another year prior to his priestly ordination. Please keep Deacon John and his family in your prayers as they prepare to travel to Cameroon for the burial of his father who was called to the Lord on February 24, 2023. ~ Hilary Aroke, Chair, PPC (For the Diaconate Ordination Organizing Committee)
