Dear parishioners of Saint Anne, the season of Advent this year offers us a pastor of our souls. Two weeks ago, I did communicate to you that Cardinal Sean had appointed Fr. Augustin Vondou as temporary administrator of Ste. Anne parish beginning December 1, 2022. Behold, he is now here in your midst. I ask you to welcome him with joy. Fr. Augustin Vondou is a priest of the archdiocese of Garoua in Cameroon. After his ordination to the priesthood on June 17, 2006, he alternatively worked as parochial vicar at Paroisse Sainte Famille de Ngong (Holy Family Parish), then as pastor of the same parish. From 2013 to 2015, he studied at Boston College, School of Theology and Ministry and graduated with an STL (Licentiate in Sacred Theology) and a ThM (Master of Theology). In August 2015, he started a PhD program at Loyola University Chicago and graduated in May 2021 with a PhD degree in Theology-Ethics. In 2018, while he was writing his dissertation, he came back to the archdiocese of Boston and has been working since then as parochial vicar at St Mary’s parish in Winchester, MA. A few days ago, Cardinal Sean appointed him as temporary administrator of Ste. Anne parish beginning December 1, 2022. He enjoys music and sports especially soccer, basketball, ping-pong, and volleyball. Fr. Augustin, may the Blessed Virgin Mary whose Son we joyfully await in Christmas accompany you with her maternal prayers as you take up this pastoral assignment.
