We are very sad to report that our dear friend, Marion Blanchette, was called home to the Lord on Tuesday, January 30th. Marion was a devoted member of Ste. Anne's Parish, serving in many capacities over the years: as a member of both the Stewardship Committee and the Parish Pastoral Council, running the 500 Club, in charge of offertory collection counting, and for many years, she was responsible for our annual Easter Egg Hunt. Most of all, Marion truly loved being a member of the handbell choir. Marion loved to play "her bells," as she called them. While we are sad at her passing, we know that she is with her beloved husband, Norman, and with our Lord in heaven.
A few years ago, parishioners were asked to give witness talks. Here is some of what Marion said:
"Every morning I wake up and thank God for another day. Then my granddaughter, Eyreland, usually runs into my room with a "Good morning, Mimi" and a big smile on her face. With my faith in God and the love of a 2.5 year old who is wise beyond her years, how can my day be bad? I make it a point to call someone every day to see how they are doing or just to hear them out. God has gifted me with an open ear to just listen and not judge. I know that God is with me all the time and I just need to continue to listen to what is best for me."
Eternal rest grant to her, O Lord; and let light perpetual shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
